Teen Strength & Conditioning

The Crossfit TPA Teen Strength and Conditioning program is for the high school athlete who is looking to enhance performance in their sport. This program is designed to improve, balance, and protect the athletes current abilities. Through progression in each workout our aim is to increase strength, speed, and work capacity. We will address flexibility, motor coordination, and structural balance in each session. The most important focus is to keep your athlete safe and performing on the field of play.

We will also have a nutrition piece where we teach athletes the importance of how to properly fuel themselves before and after workouts, practices, and games, and how nutrition plays a key role in their recovery and overall performance.

CrossFit TPA’s Head Coach, Alex Valadja, will be leading the class and programming. Alex has an extensive background in Strength & Conditioning, both as a collegiate athlete and a strength training professional. Alex played Division 1 baseball at James Madison University where he graduated with a major in Kinesiology. Upon graduation he spent 2 years as an intern, and later a lead intern within JMU’s renowned Strength and Conditioning program. Not only did he revile in strength and conditioning as an athlete for 4 years, he got on the other side of it to coach it at the Division 1 level as well. Alex is a level 1 and level 2 certified crossfit trainer, and the assistant baseball coach at Vincentian Academy.

Alex will be assisted by Jessica Bova, a former professional and collegiate athlete. Jess played 4 years of collegiate softball at Pitt, and after graduation went on to play several years in the National Pro Fastpitch League. While Jess was playing professionally she spent the off seasons as an assistant coach for the Pitt Softball team, where she was involved with the overseeing of their strength & conditioning program. Jess is a level 1 and level 2 certified CrossFit trainer, USAW certified coach, NCI certified nutrition coach, and NCI certified hormone specialist.
