Fit Kids (7-11)
Fit Kids is designed to instill a love for health and fitness for our athletes ages 7-11. Our programming is geared towards working on the 10 general physical skills (cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy) with a big emphasis on good movement patterns for functional movements and body awareness. Light loading may be appropriate if the athlete shows proficient technique. In this age group we will also introduce good nutrition habits as well as goal setting and leadership skills. We will utilize games and short workouts in a fun environment to reinforce proper technique and moving correctly in space while promoting team work, problem solving, and competition.
Fit Kids is a 6 week program with classes running twice a week; Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30pm, and Saturday mornings from 10-11am. This class is capped at 12 athletes. Our first session will run from September 13th through October 21st.
Our youth programs will be coached by Jessica Bova, a collegiate and professional athlete, current CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2 certified trainer, and mother of 2. She is trained in Youth CrossFit methodologies, carries CRP/AED certifications, and has cleared a full background check. She will have an assistant coach for all youth classes as well.
